Bob, You hit on several points that have also crossed my mind. It seems there is a boilerplate or template for these movies lately and only those which sort of go outside that box seem to work well with audiences. Also, it seems that template also calls for a one word title for these movies...Ratatouille, up, Brave, Coco, Luca, etc. probably because it's easy for the small fry to remember. I believe that Pixar needs to find a project that works for a broader audience than the target they've been shooting for but that requires that out of the box approach snd s storyline that is not all too familiar.

Isn’t Zootopia Disney animation and not Pixar?

You’re right James. Somehow that slipped through the cracks.

It’s actually good so you know you have to double check if it’s Pixar or not, lol. Enjoy all the writing you are doing lately Mike. Hope to see you one of these days in the parks.

Like others, I think one of the issues with Elio is the title - I didn't even know how to pronounce it, much less what it means - took me a while to learn that it was the main character's name. And I also suspect that in ten years I may struggle to remember any difference between "Luca" and "Elio". They seem quite similar in theme. Also, I'm not finding the continual focus on preteens and tweens as compelling as I would like, and I'm a huge Disney/Pixar fan. If I'M feeling that way I wonder what the average theatergoers is thinking. Not sure what they have to do to get their groove back, but Pixar is in a rut. (Afterthought - I enjoyed Inside Out 2 but I'm not sure why it sold so many tickets - it was midlevel Pixar to me.)
